Well considering that we're more likely than NOT taking reservations on PlayStation 3, and we don't want another xBox 360 fiasco, we may only reserve so many units per store. My store isn't a very high-volume store, so we may get less units than others.

I'm something like the third person on the pre-order list for Wii here.
By the way, when the conferences start happening, I'll keep the first post in this thread updated with all the info and links so you guys have easy access to that.
And until those events begin, here's a little somethin' to chew on: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/mizuguchi/ ... 200226.php
EDIT: Looks like Gamespot will be doing the same kind of thing they did for E3 this year, with their live show, for TGS next week: http://us.gamespot.com/events/tgs2006/
I'll be tracking that in the first post after the Nintendo stuff is done with.

So now that we all know what we all wanted to know, I'm just hoping for some huge surprise tomorrow.

The $250 pricepoint is a bit of a letdown. Still a great price. Will it include 2 wiimotes? It would be fairly pointless to include Wii Sports (which I'm asusming is only fun multiplayer) if not.
And now I know what day to take off work.

It has only one Wiimote and a Nunchuk, but it does include Wii Sports.
The operating system looks fantastic too: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/features/wii_channel.html

No mention was given to colours at the conference, which either means white only or they're saving it for the US/EU events.

I have noticed something, maybe its been posted before
but parents are always whinging 'oh your playing on that thing again, you should go and get some exercise'
......but looking at the videos, swinging the controls around and stuff is sort of 'being part of the game',id say doing that for a few hours is some form of exercise, so a good comeback if your parents start whinging at you

hah, saw this comment on Fark where they were discussing the 250 price tag
Quote: A 700 mhz, 88 MB ram computer for $250.00, + $50 memory card B 3.2 Ghz, 512 MB ram, 20 GB hard drive for $400 C 3.2 Ghz, 512 MB ram, 60 GB hard drive, Blue-ray player for $600
One of these companies is ripping people off, and their fanboys see it as a good thing. I guess people can be convinced to buy anything with enough marketing.

Golly, look at those numbers. It's a good thing that the sole components of a computer determining its performance are the clockspeed of its processor, without any architecture context, and the ram chip. Very informative comparison.

I've updated the first post with all the US information. I'm going to organize it a little better shortly.
EDIT: There. The info seems a little easier to get through now.

Apparantly it's white only, so I'm relatively annoyed at that. Not only because I want black to match my Lite, but also it seems a bit of a con to show off lots of colours and then only release one. Despite loving Nintendo's games and ideas, this one annoyed me.

Yeah, I know. But I guess that's the benefit of not going so hard on the hardware side, your console seems cheap by comparison. It's still not a bad price, and I don't mind paying it. It's not like we have any choice until there's a price drop anyway.

Let's see...
$250 for console (incl. one remote/nunchuck + wii sports)
+) $60 for another remote + another nunhuck (I'm not playing alone!)
+) $20 for classic controller
+) $150 for 3 games (Zelda being one, of course)
equals) $580! This is going to be an expensive launch for me.
Of course this is still cheaper than One PS3 that includes *no* games, so I won't complain too loudly.
EDIT: I forgot I will probably be buying a few Virtual Console Games, like Sonic and Super Mario 64.

Yeah, the big thing for me is the price of the controller. Ouch. I'll probably be playing alone, or finding other people with Wii-motes. The classic controller isn't bad, so I'll probably pick up:
Console
1. Classic controller.
2. 2 or so games, not sure which. Maybe Metroid and Zelda?
3. A VC game or two.
Yep.

That's just silly.
Of course the hardware is what shapes the general cost, but the specs of of another system performing at least 4 times better/higher is not a valid reason for assuming that the cheaper product should be at least 4 times cheaper.
For starters, it is kind of like saying the 1gb ipod nano or shuffle or whatever should only cost 10 bucks. Hey, you're paying 10 bucks for gigabyte for the 30 gigabyte ipod, correct? But we all know it doesn't work like this, you still have to pay for this entire device that plays mp3s... we all know its going to have to cost more than that.
Now, the person may argue that the shuffle is indeed also a ripoff, and I might even agree. But what sets the Wii apart from that reasoning is that instead of talking about one apple and an even bigger apple (the ipods), you're talking about one apple and one even bigger orange... Hmm.
Lets say the only apple around is smaller but costs almost as much as a bigger orange. Is that a rip off? The orange has more to it so why even bother getting the apple? Heh, I don't think I need to run through the flaw in that reasoning. In fact this whole post should've just said "apples and oranges", and nothing else.
I know i'm preaching to the choir, but "like, ya know, whatever". The Fark dude does not have a decent argument. Unless if he's right about me getting tricked by marketing...
